How To Use The TubeBuddy App To Optimize Your Channel On The Go
Updated: 6 days ago
Building a successful YouTube channel takes work and dedication.
But it's not always easy, as life gets in the way and we've got a lot of things we want to do during the day, like going to the supermarket, fixing the car, going to the dentist, etc.
So we are not always in front of a computer to keep track of our YouTube channel and optimize it.
This is where the TubeBuddy app can come in handy.
By having the TubeBuddy mobile app on your phone you will be able to optimize your channel and respond to comments on the go.
Imagine standing in line for the dentist and using that time to do keyword research for your next video or respond to important comments that are coming in on your newest video.
This is a huge time saver and I'm so happy TubeBuddy has invested the time and effort to create such an app.
So, in this article, I wanted to show you all the wonderful things you can do with the TubeBuddy app.
But, before I get started I want to introduce TubeBuddy to those of you who are not familiar with it.
If you're already familiar with it then feel free to skip ahead.
What Is TubeBuddy
TubeBuddy is a YouTube certified plugin that you can install on your browser and add additional functionality to your YouTube channel, which will help you with the productivity and optimization of your YouTube channel.
TubeBuddy is completely FREE to install and provides you with a ton of tools even in their free plan.
If you decide to upgrade, then use the coupon code OenBuddy at the checkout to get a special 20% off.
You can install TubeBuddy’s app for $2.99/month or get it for free if you join one of their premium plans which will cost you almost the same.
So I highly recommend you use the free plan to get a feeling of the plugin and then upgrade to a premium plan in order to get additional features as well as the TubeBuddy app for free.
The App’s features
The first thing that you'll see when you log in to the TubeBuddy mobile app is a live subscriber count as well as all of your videos’ stats at a glance.
If you click on one of your videos you'll see a more detailed picture, best practices for your video, the video’s tags and how are they ranking, the link of your video as well as the ability to copy your title, tags, description, and thumbnail URL.
This is particularly useful to monitor your subscribers and videos to see where you can improve.
It also gives you the ability to easily share your video and use its metadata for different reasons.
The next thing you'll see on the home screen is the comments tab where you’ll be able to reply to all of your comments easily.
This is super useful as you can reply to comments as soon as they come in which will help you increase the engagement on your videos as well as connect to your subscribers.
The third thing that you'll see in the home screen is the Milestones tab which gives you a look at what you’ve accomplished by presenting you with milestones you’ve reached.
You’ll also be able to see goals that TubeBuddy has automatically set for you according to your progress rate.
You'll be able to share your milestones with others which is super cool!
It’s a great little feature to encourage you to keep going and also share your success with others so you can inspire them or thank them for supporting you.
The fourth thing that you'll see is the news tab which encompasses all the news that creators should know in one place.
It’s important to stay informed on what new so you can adapt as quickly as possible.
The fifth tab is the menu tab where you’ll have access to a few TubeBuddy tools that are also available on your browser:
And Tag Lists
The Tag Explorer is basically a keyword tool to help you do your keyword research on your phone by presenting you with a score to the keyword you've typed as well as related searches and autocomplete from YouTube.
Now I personally use TubeBuddy’s keyword tool a little bit differently than others and if you want to see how I do my keyword research for YouTube then click to watch this video.
The Topic Planner is where you can plan your next videos.
It's basically a notepad where you can add a title as well as details of what you're planning.
This will sync with your browser plugin so you'll have easy access to it from your computer as well.
Just imagine creating an entire month’s content plan while you're on the train.
Isn't it amazing?
Canned Responses give you the ability to create response templates which you'll be able to use in order to reply to comments you get on your videos much faster.
If you’re getting a lot of comments, typing a reply to all of them can be a pain in the butt.
Instead of having to type the same response for each comment you'll be able to create a template and select it from the list.
I suggest you don't overuse this feature since I've heard some people who were flagged by YouTube as spam, so be mindful of that.
The last feature that you’ll see in the menu tab is the Tag Lists where you can save lists of tags you find using the Tag Explorer, copying tabs from competitors, writing them down yourself, and otherwise.
When you’ll upload a new video you’ll be able to add your tags quickly by choosing a tag list for your video.
Personal opinion about the app and TubeBuddy
I use the Pro Plan of TubeBuddy in my own YouTube channel and I can confidently say that the app is an amazing time saver for me.
It helps me stay on track even on the busiest days by giving me the ability to monitor and optimize my YouTube channel from anywhere and at almost any time even if I’m not next to a computer.
Creating high-quality videos is a hard job and we need all the help we can get as creators.
I hope this article was helpful and gave you a better understanding of TubeBuddy and the TubeBuddy app in particular.
